Wish List Wednesday

Welcome back to Wish List Wednesday here on Charm City Chic! It's back to being freezing here and this week you can tell I've got post-baby and warm weather on the brain by this list! I'm so ready for both this baby and spring to arrive!

I absolutely love the colors of this sweater! I think it would be so cute now with a pair of dark jeans and then with a pair of jean shorts when the weather warms up in a few months.

I came so close to buying this sweater a couple of weeks ago but the lukewarm reviews on the website deterred me. Then I stopped into a J.Crew store last week and the salesperson was wearing it and it was so, so cute on her. I've seen on a couple of blogger since then as well and it is adorable on them, too! I probably need to try it on myself in order to decide but I am loving it and that soft pink color, so good!

I imagine pairing this with jean shorts or khaki shorts for one of those cool late spring/early summer days. I live for those days. When it is the perfect temperature for a sweater and shorts combo. Sigh. It'll be awhile before those days get here and then they'll be gone in a flash.

It'll be a looooong time before I am back in high waisted jeans but I love the button detailing and the raw hem on this pair.

You know what I absolutely don't need in my closet? Another pullover. But this one looks so soft and comfortable and I spy thumb holes which basically means I'd pay another $100 dollars to have this in my closet. Anyone else crazy about thumb holes??

There is still a lot of good stuff left in the Tuckernuck sale (use code GROUNDHOG for an extra 30% off sale items), including this dress for just $28!! I may or may not have added this to my cart this morning. I mean that price is outrageously good!

My love for stripes is reaching a fever pitch. My closet is basically all stripes these days but I just can't stop! I love the colors of this tee and think it would be so cute with white jeans! I have several Madewell tee shirts and they are my favorite.

I've posted about these earrings before and I haven't stopped thinking about them. The color combo is stunning and they would elevate any outfit, in my opinion!

I love a good graphic tee to thrown on with a pair of jeans and sneakers. I love the little heart detail over the "I"!

Saving the biggest splurge for last here today. I have not yet worked out a way to spend the money on La Mer products but I am sooooo tempted by this eye concentrate. As I'm sure most of you know, the word on the street is that La Mer actually works and as I age, I really do believe in spending money on quality products that do what they say they will. But. Ugh. Still so expensive! Maybe as a push present to myself??

Monday Style

Hat (old, similar here) // Top // Bag
Jeans // Boots (and here on sale in a few sizes) // Sunglasses

It's hard to believe I only have a few more weeks left with this bump! I've said it before but this pregnancy really picked up speed in my last trimester and now there is less than a month to go!

I am still living in easy tee shirts and jeans and for this look, I added my favorite pair of boots. I got these boots last winter and they are really comfortable and warm. I wore them to walk around Manhattan on a freezing December day last year and had nary a blister, which is a miracle! The quality is fantastic and I can tell these boots are going to last forever.  I'd love to get another pair and have my eye on these

P.S. - how cute is the photo bomber in the second to last pic? Wanting to snap pictures like his mommy was doing! Photo cred goes to my sis of East Coast Chic!

Happy Monday, friends! Hard to believe we are in the last few days of January!

Five on Friday!

Phew, we made it to Friday! On Sunday, I got the stomach bug that seems to be running rampant and then my husband came down with it on Monday so we've been in recovery mode around here all week! J (the toddler) has been spared so far so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Shall we move on to more fun topics and get to my Friday favorites?

1. I love  Tuckernuck and yet somehow didn't realize they sell housewares also?? I guess I've been too distracted by the amazing clothes! Now to figure out how to get all these pieces into my home...

2. J is growing out of his navy blue sneakers that he wears practically everyday, "blue shoes" he yells every time we get dressed and while I love the pair he has, I'd like to get him something a little more formal. How cute are these  Vans? I like the fake laces vs. the velcro he's been wearing.

3. I finished up my first book of 2018 last night and it was definitely a winner! It's called,  "All Joy and No Fun: The Paradox of Modern Parenting". It is NOT a parenting how-to book (though I found a few take-aways) but rather a social psychology book about the effect kids have on their parents. I found it incredibly interesting and would definitely recommend it. I've heard the author, Jennifer Senior, on the TED Radio Hour podcast before and she's very well-spoken and it translates well into her writing.

4. We got our new duvet cover from Serena & Lily last week and I can't say enough good things about it! I love the pop of color it adds to our bedroom and I am so happy to be rid of our old comforter! We got the  Oxford Stripe Duvet and I love that, while colorful, the simple stripes mean we can add different patterns and textures to complete the look!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Wish List Wednesday

Welcome to another installment of Wish List Wednesday, where I prattle on about items I'd like to purchase but can't wear/afford/make space for currently (except there is one item I bought early this morning on this list..). It's also snowing here today which is annoying and seriously making me question why I choose to continue living here. Since I can't up and move, let's look at some pretty and rather spring-y items today, shall we?

I love everything about this tunic. The different directions of the stripes, the popover style, and the beautiful blue color make this a must on my wish list!

Since I dream of hitting the friendly skies to somewhere warmer, this bag is definitely on my radar. There are so many weekender style bags out there these days but I love the camel trim on this one! Perfect for a weekend getaway to the beach.

tall everyday shirt in end-on-end cotton : women's shirts

This is the shirt I ended up buying this morning while J.Crew is still running their 50% off sale. I've been looking for an easy light blue button up and this one (hopefully) fits the bill. It looks great in the photo above with dark jeans and I think it will look cute with white jeans, too. This is a classic shirt that will never go out of style.

The Air Max 90s are some of my most favorite sneakers. I've had several pairs over the years and I'm constantly getting stopped by strangers when I wear them wanting to know what they are. I love, love, love this navy blue pair. I'd wear them with the light blue shirt above and ankle jeans! I actually wrote a  post years ago about an outfit I saw a girl wearing in the post office and that was when I bought my first pair, ha!

I somehow don't currently have a pair of pearl earrings in my jewelry box. I love Kate Spade earrings as they are great quality and the price point isn't outrageous. I love the pave style of these!

It'll be a while before regular jeans are back in rotation for me but this might be the first pair I buy once they are! I love the slight distressing and I am a big fan of the raw hem. At well under $100, these are a good pair to snag for spring!

Sadly, I stepped in dog poo in my beloved Van's and I haven't been able to get it off despite several attempts. I have a very similar pair of Ugg sneakers in a camel/tan color and they are so comfortable so these might be replacing my Van's.

How genius is this clutch?? It has a space for everything to be neatly tucked away. On the website, they call it a, "work-day wonder" and I couldn't agree more. I don't work but I'd still consider this an awesome piece to have especially to keep in my diaper bag as well as for traveling.

I have these pajamas in the Christmas print and they are soooo comfortable. I was 30 weeks pregnant at Christmas time and these still fit! I love the updated print for spring!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I love wearing something subtle to commemorate fun holidays throughout the year. I also love heart (and star) prints so I'd wear this on more than just Valentine's Day.

How comfortable does this look? It can be worn a variety of ways and looks pretty nursing-friendly, too! The price point is also great for something that I think I'd get a lot of use out of wearing.

My husband has a big soft and fluffy robe that I bought him years ago at Kohl's. It is amazing and I wear it any opportunity I get but I'm starting to feel a little guilty about that, ha. This robe looks like it might be just as good as his softness wise. The price point on this is high for a robe so I might check out Kohl's and see if I can find the same one I bought for him!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Five on Friday!

Welcome to Friday, friends! This week has felt incredibly long to me, anyone else? I'm taking my toddler to one of those trampoline bounce places this morning and hoping for a good nap as I have a few things I want to check off my to-do list before the weekend starts!

Here are my Five Friday Favorites:

ONE // Did anyone shop the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale last week? It was the first time I had a super easy time getting on the site. I think I waited 15 minutes the first time (at 8am) and then had no problem getting back on throughout the day. I purchased a few items and cannot wait for the warm weather to get here so I can wear them! While back up in price, what I ordered is still in stock at some places!

TWO // I downloaded the 1 Second Everyday app a few days ago and it's so much fun! I was feeling a little like I couldn't download it because I didn't start on January 1 and then I realized how stupid that was. Was I really going to miss out on a fun family video montage because of some arbitrary date? I would encourage you to download it, if you haven't!

THREE // I finally set my Goodreads Challenge for 2018. 24 books. It is an ambitious goal but I am really trying hard to pick up my book instead of my phone this year, especially before bed. I don't think I've ever made my goal for my Goodreads Challenge but I do enjoy trying! Last year, I read 13 books and my goal was 26, ha!

Quotes About Books - Book Quotes - Country Living

FOUR // I have been working through my PowerSheets and I am obsessed. It is such an insightful and powerful way to set goals. Going through each step of the goal-setting process really helps me to figure out why I'm setting a goal and what it means to me. It also breaks the goal into easy, actionable steps that make it concrete and achievable. There are still some of the six month undated PowerSheets available if you've been wanting to get on the goal-setting train. I use mine in conjunction with the Simplified Planner and I feel more organized than ever before!
Turns out I only have four Friday favorites this week, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wish List Wednesday

Welcome to Wish List Wednesday! As I near the end of this pregnancy and the cold snap here in the Mid-Atlantic is finally moving on (hopefully), I'm definitely thinking about clothes for post-baby. I'm so excited to be able to wear regular clothes again (albeit nursing-friendly)! Here are some items (not just clothes) that are on my wish list. What's on yours?

capri swing sweatshirt

How cute is this sweatshirt? Every other shirt/sweater in my closet is striped but I just love them so much! I'm also partial to swing tops and will continue to be post-baby because they hide the aftermath! Coming in under $100, this sweatshirt is a winner in my book.

Main Image - Socialite Floral PJ Shirt

This is a bit out of my comfort zone but I LOVE it for some reason! Tucked into a pair of skinny jeans with heels, this would be such a cute outfit. I like the floral print and it also looks super comfortable.

Nike LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2 Women's Running Shoe

I've been casually looking for a pair of gray sneakers. All the sneakers I own are either loud and colorful or they're all black! I love that the tongue is a part of the shoe and not separate, I've had issues with the tongue of sneakers favoring one side and it's not comfortable.

Image of Salvatore Ferragamo Women's Plastic Two-Toned Cat Eye Sunglasses

Um, these are over the top and I love them! On sale for $79 down from $326 makes these a steal!

Image of Karen Walker Women's Super Spaceship Sunglasses

Have to give a mention to these, too. These are much more of a classic look and are also on sale for $79 down from $315! I have been wanting a pair of Karen Walker sunglasses for quite sometime so I think I might add these to my cart!

PAIR

At this point, I'm hopeful these are an unnecessary purchase but the truth is Maryland gets cold weather and we get snow not infrequently. The past few years, I've been wearing rain boots as snow boots and the fact of the matter is, they just don't work. They aren't tall enough and they definitely aren't warm enough. These will probably stay on my wish list until the end of this year and I'll revisit them in the fall.

We made it to the halfway point in the week, y'all! Have a great Wednesday!

Casual Maternity Style

coat // tee // jeans// sneakers (old-linked similar pair)

I took these photos less than 2 weeks ago - it was cold. Probably in the high 20s. I was freezing but now I'd do just about anything for it to be in the high 20s (supposed to get there today but also there is a chance of freezing rain this afternoon so WTF). There's hope for tomorrow though (high of 44 degrees) and I feel like everyone in this city is going to be outside in short sleeves!

I have been living in easy tee shirts (with several layers, ha) and my favorite maternity jeans this pregnancy. Old Navy has been my go to for tee shirts and I am loving this emerald green coat my mom gave me for Christmas. The color is gorgeous and I can still zip it up which means it's the only coat I can wear right now - no complaints there!  I have little desire to get dressed up and even in an outfit like this, at the end of the day, I am so ready to change into pajamas. My 3rd trimester has absolutely flown by and I can't believe we are a mere six weeks away from meeting this little guy! I'm so looking forward to his arrival and feeling much more excited than nervous about adding another baby to our crew!

I just realized we are officially one week into 2018! Hope your year is off to a great start!
